Further detail on prescribing within the CPCF published

NHS England and the Department of Health and Social Care have published further information related to the addition of prescribing within the Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework (CPCF).

This includes guidance on Prescription Management and a new Part VIF of the Drug Tariff which includes details of payments linked to prescribing.

These documents build on resources already published earlier in the year, such as the Professional Assurance Framework and Commissioning Guidance for ICBs.

We have also updated our Prescribing within the CPCF webpage to include links to these documents and new sections setting out:

• further information on the service specifications and other documentation still to be published.
• the IT support required for prescribing.
• the pharmacy sign-up process.
• the preparations pharmacy owners need to complete before signing-up to provide prescribing services.
