The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) has issued a medicine supply notification for: Formoterol fumarate dihydrate (Atimos Modulite®) 12micrograms/dose inhaler.

  • Formoterol fumarate dihydrate (Atimos Modulite®) 12micrograms/dose inhaler is being discontinued at the end of November 2026.
  • NICE-recommended combination inhalers remain available and can support increased demand.
  • Formoterol fumarate dihydrate (Oxis® 12 Turbohaler and Formoterol Easyhaler®) remain available and can support increased demand.
  • Salmeterol (Soltel®) 25micrograms/dose inhaler CFC free remains available can support increased demand (see note below).
  • Salmeterol (Serevent®) 25micrograms/dose inhaler CFC free remains available but cannot support increased demand.

A copy of this medicine supply notification, including supporting information, has been sent to all pharmacy NHS email addresses.

DHSC and NHS England have launched an online Medicines Supply Tool, which provides up-to-date information about medicine supply issues. The contents of these MSNs can now be viewed on the Tool.

The Tool also details any changes to resupply dates and updates to the entries.
