Medicine Supply Notification: Lansoprazole 15mg and 30mg orodispersible tablets

The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) has issued a medicine supply notification for: Lansoprazole 15mg and 30mg orodispersible tablets.

  • Lansoprazole 15mg and 30mg orodispersible tablets are in limited supply until early January 2027.
  • Lansoprazole 15mg and 30mg gastro-resistant capsules remain available and can support increased demand.
  • Alternative proton pump inhibitors remain available.
  • Serious Shortage Protocols (SSPs) for lansoprazole 15mg and 30mg orodispersible tablets were issued on 9 September 2026 which allows community pharmacists to limit supply to one month.

A copy of this medicine supply notification, including supporting information, has been sent to all pharmacy NHS email addresses.

DHSC and NHS England have launched an online Medicines Supply Tool, which provides up-to-date information about medicine supply issues. The contents of these MSNs can now be viewed on the Tool.

The Tool also details any changes to resupply dates and updates to the entries.
