Medicine Supply Notification: Nifedipine 10mg, 20mg, 30mg and 60mg modified-release tablets

Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) has issued a medicine supply notification for Nifedipine 10mg, 20mg, 30mg and 60mg modified-release tablets.

Various brands and strengths of nifedipine modified-release tablets are experiencing supply issues:

  • Tensipine® MR 10 and 20 tablets will be out of stock from early August 2026 and early October 2026 respectively. The resupply dates for both strengths are to be confirmed.
  • Dexipress® MR 20mg tablets are currently out of stock until November 2026.
  • Adalat® LA 30 tablets are out of stock from late July 2026 until late November 2026.
  • Adanif® XL 30mg and 60mg tablets have been discontinued.
  • Neozipine® XL 30mg and 60mg tablets are currently out of stock until early August 2026.
  • Alternative brands of nifedipine modified-release tablets remain available and can support increased demand.
  • Coracten® SR 10mg and 20mg capsules, and Coracten® XL 30mg and 60mg capsules remain available and can support increased demand.

A copy of this medicine supply notification, including supporting information, has been sent to all pharmacy NHS email addresses.

DHSC and NHS England have launched an online Medicines Supply Tool, which provides up-to-date information about medicine supply issues. The contents of these MSNs can now be viewed on the Tool.

The Tool also details any changes to resupply dates and updates to the entries.
