The Centre for Pharmacy Postgraduate Education (CPPE) has now launched the Asthma for Pharmacy Quality Scheme 2026/27 e-learning.

Pharmacists are required to complete this e-learning (as well as the Asthma e-assessment) by 31st March 2027 as part of the Medicines optimisation and patient safety domain of the 2026/27 Pharmacy Quality Scheme (PQS).

If pharmacists have already completed unit 4 (asthma) of the CPPE Fundamentals of respiratory therapeutics e-learning since 19th February 2025, they do not need to complete the above Asthma for Pharmacy Quality Scheme 2026/27 e-learning. However, they will still need to complete the Asthma e-assessment, if this has not been passed since 19th February 2025.

CPPE has a PQS page on their website which includes a PQS tracker. This allows pharmacists to easily determine if they have completed the above e-assessment for the 2026/27 PQS within the specified timeframe.

Pharmacy owners should keep a copy of each pharmacist’s certificate of completion of the Asthma e-assessment as evidence that the e-learning and e-assessment have been completed within the required time period. Certificates should be retained for three years for post-payment verification purposes.
