PQS: Have you completed the Palliative care questionnaire?
For the 2026/27 Pharmacy Quality Scheme (PQS) there are three Gateway requirements which must all be met, to enable pharmacy owners to be eligible to claim a PQS payment:
- Palliative care questionnaire;
- Pharmacy palliative care medication stockholder; and
- Action plan.
Unlike the other PQS requirements that need to be met by the end of 31st March 2027, the palliative care questionnaire needs to be completed by the end of 31st December 2026.
Failure to meet this deadline will mean pharmacy owners will not be able to claim a PQS payment and their Aspiration payment (if claimed for in July 2026) will be recovered by the NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA).
Actions required:
- Complete and submit the Palliative care questionnaire which can be accessed through the NHSBSA’s MYS portal (a copy of the questions is available on the NHSBSA PQS webpage).
- A confirmation email will be sent once the questionnaire has been completed; retain this as evidence that your submission has been successful.
- If you don’t receive a confirmation email within one hour of submitting the questionnaire; after first checking your junk email folder, email the provider assurance team at pharmacysupport@nhsbsa.nhs.uk immediately to make them aware of the issue.
Further information on how to meet the other two Gateway requirements can be found on our PQS page.
