World Pharmacists Day 2026: CPE Chair reflects on role of pharmacists 

To mark World Pharmacists Day, our Chair, Dame Jenny Harries, reflects on the vital role pharmacists play in keeping our communities healthy and the potential for them to play an even greater role in the future of healthcare.

After a year as CPE Chair, and through visiting community pharmacies and speaking with pharmacy teams across England, Jenny shares her reflections on the expertise, professionalism and commitment she has seen first-hand, and the opportunities to make greater use of pharmacists’ skills.

Her message reflects this year’s theme, ‘Empowering pharmacists for healthier futures’, and the important role pharmacists can play in shaping the future of primary care.
