East and North Midlands Independent Regional Representative Election

Formal processes to seek a new East and North Midlands Regional Representative will begin shortly, following the resignation of Lindsey Fairbrother from the Committee.

Our committee is responsible for providing effective leadership to and oversight of Community Pharmacy England’s activity to generate value for the sector and promote the long-term success of community pharmacy in England.

A representative of independent pharmacy owners in the following LPC areas will be sought:

Pharmacists who are independent pharmacy owners and who are members or officers of an LPC in the relevant Community Pharmacy England region will be eligible for election as a Community Pharmacy England Regional Representative.

Eligible independent pharmacy owners from these LPC areas will be invited to express their interest in the role and then, if an election is triggered, to vote to select their new Regional Representative in the coming weeks.

The new Regional Representative will then hold the position until the end of the current term of office for this Committee, which is 31st March 2027. Elections for the new term of office for the Committee will take place from December 2026.

Lindsey’s resignation follows three years as a Community Pharmacy England Member, and it will trigger a number of processes at Community Pharmacy England, including the selection of a new Chair of the Legislation and Regulatory subcommittee.

Further information, including details about the role of Regional Representative, the election process, actions required for those seeking to stand for election and timescales, will be shared with the relevant LPCs and pharmacy owners shortly.

In the meantime, any pharmacy owners or LPCs in the region needing assistance or for an informal discussion about the vacancy, contact CPE’s Director of LPC and Member Support, James Wood by email james.wood@cpe.org.uk

James Wood said:

“Regional Representatives play a vital role in bringing the voice of independent pharmacy owners and LPCs into our policy and decision making. I encourage eligible pharmacy owners to consider standing for this position, which offers a real opportunity to contribute at a national level.

“Our success depends on the contributions of vibrant, engaged, committed leaders from all parts of the sector.

“Lindsey has made an enthusiastic and tireless contribution to the Committee, representing both her region in the East and North Midlands and the wider sector. We thank her for her service and wish her every success for the future.”

Lindsey Fairbrother said:

“After three rewarding years serving on the Committee, I am stepping down following the sale of my pharmacy business. It has been a privilege to work alongside such dedicated colleagues but as I am no longer a contractor, I am unable to remain on Committee. I will continue to support community pharmacy in whatever way I can.”
