Pharmacy Pressures Survey 2025: It’s time to share your views
Community Pharmacy England has launched its fourth annual Pressures Survey, and all pharmacy owners and staff are asked to share their views.
The survey provides crucial evidence as part of ongoing work to monitor and quantify the intolerable challenges facing the sector. Results will be used to raise awareness in the national media and Parliament, and to once again demonstrate the impact of the ongoing crisis in community pharmacy to Government and the NHS.
As we move into 2025, with critical CPCF negotiations expected to restart this month, securing immediate investment and easing pressures on community pharmacies remains Community Pharmacy England’s focus. Taking part in the Pressures Survey can support that ongoing work.
As previously, the Pharmacy Pressures Survey consists of two surveys, with many questions kept similar to last year’s for comparison purposes. The surveys are as short as possible, taking around 10-15 minutes to complete. They will remain open until 23.59 on 28th February 2025.
The two separate surveys are:
This survey covers the pressures being experienced by businesses, focusing on the overall running of the pharmacy, including financial and staffing pressures. Please note that only one representative from each pharmacy business should complete this survey – please check this is the case before doing so. [Click here to view/download a copy of the questions]
This survey covers the day-to-day pressures being experienced by pharmacy teams, including supply chain issues, patient interactions/experience, and staff morale. It can be answered by anyone working in a community pharmacy. [Click here to view/download a copy of the questions]
If you are an independent pharmacy owner or any pharmacy owner who also works day-to-day in a pharmacy, you are welcome to complete both surveys, or you may prefer to complete the owners’ survey and encourage your team members to complete the team survey.
We appreciate your response to these surveys, especially during this busy time. The results will be used directly to help in our work pressing for more support and sustained core investment for community pharmacies.
Janet Morrison, Community Pharmacy England Chief Executive, said:
“As we enter another year, the pressures on community pharmacies, and the disastrous impact of many years of real terms funding cuts, continue to deepen. The Pressures Survey is one of many data sources that Community Pharmacy England uses to make this case to Government and the NHS, and it is a powerful tool for influencing policy makers, with past surveys generating significant national media coverage and Parliamentary mentions.
Thank you to everyone who takes the time to complete this year’s survey. Your answers will be used directly in conversations with Government and the NHS as we continue to fight for a better future for community pharmacy. Every contribution will help.”
