Notifications to pharmacy systems
Published on: 7th August 2020 | Updated on: 25th March 2022
Direct notifications may over time increasingly be communicated between clinical IT systems (e.g. in the future more notifications might be sent from GP practice systems and other care settings systems to pharmacy systems) to improve patients’ experiences and care outcomes, and to bring other health-related benefits.
The Professional Record Standards Body (PRSB) has worked with NHS Digital, Community Pharmacy England, clinicians from across primary care, and others to develop standards for sharing between systems and may be involved with future such standards work if it proceeds.

System suppliers may consider integrating with relevant standards to assist communications between systems.
