IT service alerts

IT service alerts can help your pharmacy team identify whether a technical issue is affecting your local systems or a wider NHS service.
System supplier alerts
Your IT system supplier may provide service alerts when there are significant issues affecting its systems. Contact your supplier to find out what alert options are available and how to subscribe.
NHS IT alerts
Pharmacy teams can subscribe to alerts about the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS), NHS Spine and other national NHS IT services through the NHS England National Service Desk (NSD) Customer Portal. Access requires an nhs.net account and a Customer Portal login.
The NSD Customer Portal also provides information about current incidents, recently resolved issues and the availability of national NHS services. This can help you quickly identify whether a problem is related to national NHS infrastructure or a local system issue.
You may be asked to renew or update your alert subscriptions periodically to continue receiving notifications.
Top tip
Consider subscribing to NSD email alerts and setting up an email rule to automatically move them into a dedicated folder within your nhs.net mailbox. This helps keep your inbox organised while ensuring alerts are available when you need to check for possible IT issues.
