111 online minor illness CPCS referrals to start on Monday

From Monday 3rd October 2022, referrals from NHS 111 online to the Community Pharmacist Consultation Service (CPCS) will include those for minor illness consultations, as well as the current referrals received for urgent medicine supplies.

This development of the 111 online system follows a six-month pilot across several areas, including Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.

Referrals from 111 online will arrive in the normal way into the contractor’s CPCS IT system, with NHSmail being used as a backup system, should the CPCS IT system be down. Contractors should manage the referrals in the same way they would any other CPCS referral.
