C-19 vac updates
Spring 2026 campaign bookings open
Pharmacy owners are reminded that the public will be able to book COVID-19 vaccination appointments via the national booking service (NBS) from 7th April 2026 for vaccination from Monday, 13th April 2026.
Pharmacy owners are advised to load their intended appointments so that the public can book available appointments as soon as the NBS opens.
Autumn/winter 2026/27 programme confirmed
The Government has accepted advice from the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation on eligibility for the autumn 2026 COVID-19 vaccination programme. In line with this advice, a vaccination will be offered to those at higher risk of serious outcomes from COVID-19.
The cohorts eligible for vaccination in England in autumn 2026 are:
- Adults aged 75 years and over;
- Residents in care homes for older adults; and
- Individuals aged 6 months and over who are immunosuppressed, as defined in the COVID-19: the green book, chapter 14a.
Eligibility in autumn 2026 is the same as in the spring 2025, autumn 2025 and spring 2026 campaigns.
Pharmacy owners may wish to advise patients who attend the pharmacy for their spring COVID-19 vaccination that they can also obtain their COVID-19 vaccination and their flu vaccination (adults only) from the pharmacy from 1st October 2026.
Pharmacy owners may also want to consider how best to prompt these patients to book their vaccination at the pharmacy once the national booking service opens for booking for the autumn/winter 2026/27 season.
Further information of the COVID-19 and adult flu vaccination services can be found on our Seasonal Vaccination Services page.
