NHS England and NHS Improvement (NHSE&I) have issued further support to help prepare pharmacy contractors for the transfer of the cost of Community Pharmacist Consultation Service (CPCS) IT solutions to them after the end of March 2022.

NHSE&I, with the support of PSNC, is also organising a second webinar on this subject. The webinar is currently planned for Thursday 14th October, from 7.00-8.30pm.

PSNC strongly recommends that all contractors and LPC Chief Officers attend the webinar to help with their preparation and that contractors/LPC ask any questions they may have during the Q&A session on the night.

Ahead of the webinar and the planned switchover date (or by late this year), contractors are strongly encouraged to sign-up to one of the four assured CPCS IT providers below:

NHSE&I have published a switching guide to help contractors make this transition. This guidance sets out the options and actions required in the move to the CPCS ‘provider pays’ model.

Community Pharmacy Contractors Guide to CPCS IT Provider ‘Switching’. The guide advises contractors to act promptly to sign up to a CPCS IT provider from mid-November (and at latest during February) to ensure smooth transition and avoid any risk of service interruption.

A CPCS IT Buyer’s Guide will also published to help contractors choose the best CPCS IT solution for them.
