NHSmail is becoming NHS.net Connect – what pharmacy teams need to know
A new name and look are coming to NHSmail – here’s what it means for pharmacy teams.
The NHSmail programme is being rebranded to NHS.net Connect. This change introduces a refreshed look and some new features, but if you use it, your existing NHS.net email address, login details and helpdesk support will stay the same.
Over the coming months, more NHS.net users will begin using the new NHS.net
Connect Launchpad – a personalised ‘landing’ homepage that will replace the current NHSmail portal webpage.
The Launchpad is intended to make it easier to:
- Manage your NHS.net profile and password;
- Access your NHS.net Outlook emails;
- Access tools like Teams and OneDrive;
- Get step-by-step support; and
- Use NHS.net across desktop and mobile devices.
The new name – NHS.net Connect – is intended to reflect how the service has grown to include more than just email, with extra tools now available to support your daily work.
Pharmacy team members using NHS.net don’t need to do anything at this stage. Your email address and login will stay the same, and the updated homepage will be rolled out to users in a phased programme.
What pharmacy owners must continue to do
The key NHS.net related requirements within the Pharmacy Terms of Service remain unchanged, i.e. pharmacy owners should ensure:
- Staff can access the pharmacy’s shared NHS.net mailbox and use it to send and receive emails;
- At least two staff members at the pharmacy have personal NHS.net accounts linked to the shared mailbox.
For technical issues
Continue to refer to the NHS.net technical issues and escalation factsheet.
