PQS: Have you started your AMS Pharmacy First audit?
Pharmacy owners have just over a week left to start the Pharmacy Quality Scheme (PQS) Antimicrobial Stewardship – Pharmacy First consultations – Clinical Audit.
The audit, which is a quality criterion in the Patient safety domain of the 2025/26 PQS, requires pharmacy owners to complete a clinical audit focused on the clinical advice and consultations provided to patients scoring FeverPAIN 0-3 on the Pharmacy First Sore Throat clinical pathway.
The audit must be carried out with a minimum of 10 patients over four weeks, or over an eight-week period if 10 patients are not achieved. Therefore pharmacy owners must start the audit on or before 3rd February 2026. This will give pharmacy owners an eight-week consecutive period before the deadline (the pharmacy must have completed the audit, shared their anonymised data with NHS England by submitting this via the MYS data collection tool, received their data collection submission confirmation email and incorporated any learnings from the audit into future practice by the end of 31st March 2026).
