Update from our CEO: Influencing for the future

“Advocacy work is continuing to ensure pharmacy’s value, potential and needs are factored into healthcare policy discussions at the highest levels,” writes Community Pharmacy England Chief Executive Janet Morrison in a new blog.

In-depth analysis of critical funding issues, national media work, and implementation of service changes continued over the summer alongside Community Pharmacy England’s long-running advocacy programme. We have also been listening to pharmacy owners’ views and experiences throughout, gathering insights from across the sector to shape our negotiating strategy.

In her blog, Janet reflects on how Community Pharmacy England will make best use of the autumn conference season to prepare for the next CPCF negotiations and explore the implications of the 10 Year Health Plan. Janet also highlights the funding pressures facing pharmacies, the work to advocate for pharmacy at the party conferences, and how we’ll be continuing conversations with pharmacy owners at the Pharmacy Show 2025.
