Description
The service allows pharmacists and their teams to make supplies of gluten free foods to patients who have a written referral from either a GP or dietician contracted to Cumbria CCG. Advice and support on the range and quantities of gluten free foods available under the service will also be provided, agreeing a standard monthly order with each customer according to local guidelines.

Training
Pharmacists and staff where possible should have attended the initial launch and training event. In addition, all pharmacists and registered pharmacy technicians providing the service must have read Coeliac Disease NICE clinical guideline 86 May 2009 and any other relevant national or local guidelines, as and when notified by the CCG.
