Services Database Seasonal Flu Immunisation Programme under a Patient Group Direction for South Tyneside Council Staff 2015-16

This service will require the pharmacist to administer flu immunisations to eligible adult patients in residential, nursing and domiciliary social care settings as part of winter planning/resilience arrangements. The intended service outcome is to reduce the serious morbidity and mortality from flu infections by immunising those in healthcare settings with direct patient contact or social care workers.

Although the service can be provided by pharmacy contractors in Gateshead and South Tyneside, the service is only available to members of staff who work for South Tyneside council, not those that work for Gateshead council.
