Aims of the service
The scheme aims to encourage pharmacists to actively offer clients (in line with inclusion criteria and clinical guidelines) a HIV test.
Inclusion criteria
Wandsworth residents aged 18-59 meeting the following criteria:
- Clients attending for EHC or chlamydia screening
- Clients who are attending needle exchange
- Requesting a HIV test (either proactively or following prompting through counter card.
Exclusion criteria
- Those who (as far as known) have symptoms of sero-conversion illness OR are known to be HIV positive
- Clients who lack capacity to give informed consent to test

Training
Any staff (counter, technician, pharmacist) must attend and complete (to the Council’s satisfaction) the locally defined Public Health training & accreditation programme comprised of the following elements:
- Attendance at local workshop
- Complete the following CPPE packs
o CPPE Sexual Health: testing and treating
o CPPE Dealing with difficult discussions - Completion of a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check with no adverse outcome
- Registration with the Public Health Directorate (Council) as a provider
- Evidence of the completed training and accreditation must be provided to the Council (Public Health) before you can commence offering the scheme.
- Records of completion of these packs must.
