2025 mandatory workforce survey opens today
NHS England’s annual Community Pharmacy Workforce Survey opens today (Monday 22nd September 2025).
Completion of the survey is a mandatory requirement for all pharmacy owners.
The survey will close at 11.59pm on Friday 21st November 2025.
How to complete the survey
The 2025 survey contains the same questions as the 2024 survey, focusing on the number of staff, the number of full-time equivalents (FTE) and any vacancies in each of ten staff categories employed in community pharmacy.
As with previous surveys, the data will be collected through two different methods:
- An online survey which can be accessed via a unique link that the NHSBSA will email to pharmacies or pharmacies can also access the survey by logging into the Manage Your Service (MYS) portal; or
- Via data collection at Head Office level through an Excel spreadsheet, which the NHSBSA will send to multiple pharmacy groups that submitted their data via that route last year.
The NHSBSA will send emails to pharmacies asking them to complete the online survey today and reminder emails will follow in due course, where the survey has not been completed.
Where the head office of a multiple will supply the data centrally, the NHSBSA email explains this and that there is no need for the pharmacy to submit the data. For branches of multiple pharmacy groups, contact your head office if you’re unsure if you need to complete the survey.
