CPCS Technical Toolkit and IT supplier webinar for contractors
A new Technical Toolkit has been published for the NHS Community Pharmacist Consultation Service (CPCS). This outlines the NHS IT standards which pharmacy IT suppliers must follow to offer an appropriate CPCS IT solution.
The toolkit was developed by NHS England and NHS Improvement (NHSE&I) with input from other NHS organisations and stakeholders including PSNC and the Community Pharmacy IT Group.
From 1st October 2021, community pharmacy contractors providing the CPCS will need to procure their own IT support from those IT systems in the market offering CPCS functionality.
Four pharmacy IT suppliers are expected to provide validated solutions. Sonar Informatics and PharmOutcomes already have the functionality to receive CPCS referral messages, support the creation of clinical records and submit claims to the NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA). However, Positive Solutions and Cegedim are also working to develop this functionality ahead of 1st October.
CPCS IT supplier showcase
NHSE&I are organising an IT supplier showcase to provide pharmacy contractors and LPCs with the opportunity to hear from the four IT suppliers which plan to align with the toolkit. The event will be held on Thursday 22nd July 2021 from 7pm until 8.30pm.
