Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) has issued a medicine supply notification for Bambuterol (Bambec® ) 10mg Tablets

- Astra Zeneca (sole suppliers) are discontinuing bambuterol (Bambec®) 10mg tablets with the stock expected to be exhausted by the end of June 2022.
- Other oral β2-agonists remain available.
- Inhaled β2-agonist therapy is the preferred route of administration.
A copy of this medicine supply notification, including further information, has been sent to all pharmacy NHS email addresses.
The DHSC Medicine Supply Team provide a monthly update on potential supply issues affecting both primary and secondary care. This update is uploaded on the Specialist Pharmacy Services (SPS) website.
