MPs to hold parliamentary debate on the future of community pharmacies
THIS CONTENT HAS NOW EXPIRED
Peter Aldous MP has secured a Westminster Hall Debate on the Future of Community Pharmacies, on Thursday 14th September at 3pm.
This is very timely as it will coincide with the launch of the Vision for community pharmacy on the 19th September, which is being developed by The King’s Fund and Nuffield Trust.
This will be a very good opportunity for MPs to raise the unprecedented challenges that pharmacies face including workforce, medicines supply, and funding pressures, as illustrated by Community Pharmacy England’s Pressures Survey earlier this year.
Community Pharmacy England has been working with Peter’s office and has been briefing a number of MPs ahead of the debate.
We would like to ask for LPCs and pharmacy owners for their help in encouraging MPs to sign up to speak in the debate. You can do this via the draft MP email below or by tagging your MP here.

Westminster Hall Debate on the Future of Community Pharmacies
Thursday 14th September – 3pm
Length: 90 mins
Dear x
I am writing to ask for your support by attending a Westminster Hall debate on the future of community pharmacies on Thursday 14th September at 3pm.
This is very timely as it is likely to coincide the launch of the Vision for community pharmacy, which is being developed by The King’s Fund and Nuffield Trust.
As you may be aware, community pharmacies are facing unprecedented challenges including workforce, medicines supply, and funding pressures, as illustrated by Community Pharmacy England’s Pressures Survey earlier this year.
We would be extremely grateful if you were able to take part in this debate to highlight these pressures, as well as raising awareness of the skillsets pharmacy teams possess and how they could further support their patients in the future with fair and proper funding.
We will, of course, be happy to provide any local information/data you may need. A summary of the current issues facing community pharmacies can be found here.
As ever, we are also very happy to arrange a local pharmacy visit in your constituency.
Please do let me know whether you are able to support.
Many thanks,
x
