NHS weight loss jabs through pharmacies

Some national newspapers have reported that health officials are considering enabling weight-loss injections to be delivered through community pharmacies on the NHS.

Our Director of NHS Services, Alastair Buxton, said:

“Community pharmacies are well placed to offer support for weight loss, and a weight management service is one of our service development priorities. We are open to discussing the practicalities of the rumoured plans with the Government but note that any new service would need to be carefully considered given the community pharmacy sector’s current capacity and tight finances.”
