Volunteer: Join the updated EPS status tracking NHS App pilot

Community pharmacy teams are invited to take part in a new NHS England pilot aimed at improving the prescription tracking experience for patients using the NHS App.

NHS England is launching a pilot to enhance the experience of patients who use the NHS App to manage their prescriptions. NHS England is developing in-app notifications about prescription tracking updates for patients. These notifications will send a message to patients via the NHS App when a prescription or medication status is updated to “ready to collect” or “partially ready to collect” via existing triggers in the Patient Medication Record (PMR) system.

Who can participate?

The pilot is open to a sample of pharmacies that provide prescription status updates to NHS England through their PMR systems. The systems that do this are:

  • Apotec CRM (Apotec)
  • Colombus (Boots)
  • Pharmacy Manager (Cegedim)
  • Titan (Invatech)

If pharmacy teams are unsure whether their pharmacy provides prescription status updates, they can still register their interest. NHS England will check and confirm eligibility. If you have any questions, please contact jo.cameron5@nhs.net.

How to express interest

Community pharmacy teams are encouraged to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) as soon as possible. The pilot will start in early September 2025.

To take part in the pilot or find out more about what is involved, please complete the Expression of Interest Form.
