You’re Invited: Pharmacy Owner September Engagement Event

THIS CONTENT HAS NOW EXPIRED

Community Pharmacy England has opened registration for its first national engagement event for pharmacy owners.

We are holding a digital gathering for all community pharmacy owners in England on Monday 18th September at 7pm-8.30pm. This will be an opportunity for those we represent to hear more about our work and progress in key areas, participate in discussions on key issues, and share views on those issues that are important to you. A fuller agenda will be released nearer the time.

The event will be the first time that members of Community Pharmacy England’s Committee and policy team have met with the pharmacy owners on a national scale since our recent rebrand. It is important for us to hear from the sector regularly as we push for the best outcomes for all community pharmacy businesses.

September’s event will also be one of the ways in which we feed back to the sector about our next full Committee Meeting, which will be held the week before. As with the last meeting, the Committee is again seeking input from all pharmacy owners with some opinion polls – the short survey can be completed here.

We will be running a series of regular engagement events as part of our ongoing commitment to actively engage with the sector more. Whilst some will be organised at a regional level, this is the first of two all-England digital events we plan to hold in 2023/24. The second will be held in January/February 2024. You will also be able to meet with members of the Committee and Executive Leadership Team in-person at the Pharmacy Show on 15th-16th October.

Register for the September Engagement Event (registration has now closed)

Please note:

  • Registration will close at 3pm on the day of the event.
  • This event is for community pharmacy owners or their representatives, pharmacy team members and LPC teams only.
  • It is not open to journalists so we can have frank and honest discussions with pharmacy owners.

James Wood, Director of Member and LPC Support at Community Pharmacy England, said:

“Times are incredibly tough for everyone who works in community pharmacy, and we are working very hard to fight your corner on the things that matter most to you – funding and payments, medicines supply and price concessions, and the logistics of services such as flu vaccination. This essential work is informed by our Committee of pharmacy owners and representatives as well as the feedback we hear from LPCs. Alongside this, we are keen to collaborate even more with those across the sector.

Registration is now open for the first in a series of regular engagement events, as committed to as part of our rebrand to Community Pharmacy England. These new engagement events will offer the chance for pharmacy owners to tell us about their primary concerns and challenges, as well as learn more about the work we are doing on your behalf. I also hope that we will be able to update you on the negotiations on the £645m investment and the Common Conditions Service.

But, primarily, our focus will be on hearing directly from pharmacy owners. The more we hear from you the more powerfully we can represent your views to Ministers, officials and policymakers, so I very much hope that you will be able to spare the time to join us on 18th September.”
