Pharmacy Quality Scheme

Published on: 1st April 2021 | Updated on: 21st April 2026

The Pharmacy Quality Scheme (PQS) forms part of the Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework (CPCF). PQS is designed to reward community pharmacies for delivering quality criteria that are designed to support clinical effectiveness, patient safety and patient experience.

2026/27

Negotiations on the Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework (CPCF) arrangements for 2026/27 are still in progress between Community Pharmacy England, the Department of Health and Social Care and NHS England. Therefore there is no update yet on if there will be a Pharmacy Quality Scheme (PQS) in 2026/27.

When negotiations have concluded, this page will be updated to highlight if a PQS has been agreed for 2026/27.
