Funding for winter pressures

Following the Government announcement of new funding for winter pressures, we were asked whether any of this would be made available to the community pharmacy sector.

Our Chief Executive Janet Morrison said:

“Community pharmacies consistently play a vital role in easing winter pressures acting as a safety net for the NHS and patients during this most critical of seasons for the health service. But to continue to do so, pharmacies need investment and sustained support all year round. The Government has committed investment into pharmacies this year and next to support primary care recovery and this is a positive first step, but community pharmacies need a long-term sustainable funding outlook so that they continue to play the roles the NHS so desperately needs them to.”
