Description
This service provides opportunistic screening using a postal kit and treatment to chlamydia positive young people aged 15-24 years and treatment for partners of any age. All young women who attend for emergency hormonal contraception (EHC) should be offered a chlamydia screening test before issuing emergency contraception. Uncomplicated/symptom free chlamydia positive 15-24 year olds and their partners of any age can be treated by a qualified pharmacist. The pharmacist should also raise awareness of the risks associated with unprotected sexual intercourse (UPSI).
