Trained pharmacy staff will be available to answer basic questions regarding sexual health and be able to provide young people with information on the availability and location of more specialist local sexual health services (available on or ).
Supply of chlamydia screening postal kit
The supply will be made free of charge to the client and at NHS expense to young people aged 16-24 who are Portsmouth residents or who are registered with a Portsmouth GP (may supply to others outside this group at pharmacists discretion if client unlikely to access service elsewhere).
Pharmacy staff will supply chlamydia postal kits to any person aged between 16 & 24 years old upon request and may proactively offer chlamydia postal kits to all young people aged 16-24 attending pharmacy (i.e. when collecting prescriptions or asking for health advice).
Young people aged 16 to 24 presenting for emergency hormonal contraception and those purchasing condoms or accessing free condoms via the C card must be offered a chlamydia postal kit.
Supply of free condoms to young people aged 13 to 24
The pharmacy staff will provide a supply of condoms in the form of a condom pack to young people aged 13 to 24 years old presenting with a GET IT ON C card.
GET IT ON condom packs & relevant materials will be provided by the Public Health Resource & Campaign Service.

All pharmacy staff involved in delivering this Stage 1 sexual health service must have completed safeguarding children & young people training every 3 years using suitable CPPE or equivalent local training.
