Description
Objectives
Pharmacies will:
• Provide emergency hormonal contraception (EHC) under patient group direction (PGD) and sexual health advice.
• Offer chlamydia screening to 100% 15-24 year olds who access the pharmacy for EHC support
• Signpost clients to the Integrated Sexual Health Service where appropriate
• Offer condoms to patients accessing EC as per PGD/C-Card agreement
• Systematically deliver brief interventions, behavioural support, signposting and/or “opt-out” to relevant prevention services (smoking, physical activity, diet and nutrition, and alcohol support).

Training
All pharmacists must have:
- completed the CPPE Emergency Contraception Open Learning Programme;
- completed the CPPE Contraception Open Learning Programme (by 30th September 2014);
- completed the Online Safeguarding Children e-Learning Training; and
- attended the NCC authorised annual evening training session.
