Description
Just in Case (JIC) boxes will be issued to patients who are in the last 6 months of their life, with the aim that there will be medication in a person’s home that can be used at time of crisis if the patient’s health deteriorates suddenly.
Pharmacy will be asked to dispense certain medications on FP10 as usual, but when a JIC box is requested they will then pack the medication into a sturdy box (boxes to be provided by the Clinical Commissioning Group), and seal it with a tamper proof seal. The patient will be counselled and a record will be made.
