Description
The services will be offered to all Needle & Syringe Programme and Supervised Administration Programme service users. The pharmacy will be required to measure a service user’s height, weight and blood pressure as part of the Mini Health Check.
The pharmacy will offer brief healthy lifestyle advice and support to all clients receiving the service to assist them with managing and / or reducing their risk. Clients who are found to be at moderate or high risk will be offered appropriate interventions and referral, where required, in line with local guidance.
Moderate risk:
Clients who are found to be at moderate risk will be offered, where appropriate, interventions such as stop smoking or weight management where the pharmacy has been commissioned to provide such a service. Where the pharmacy does not provide such services they will refer clients to CGL Aspire.
High risk:
All clients found to be at high risk will be offered, where appropriate, interventions such as stop smoking or weight management where the pharmacy has been commissioned to provide such a service. Where the pharmacy does not provide such services they will refer clients to CGL Aspire will also be referred on to their GP for further investigation and management.

Training
All pharmacists are required to complete the CPPE Declaration of Competence for Needle Exchange and Supervised Services as part of other service provisions. Only pharmacies providing these other services will be invited to deliver the mini health check screening service.
All the services will require attendance at a training event organised by Lloydspharmacy.
