Description
The NHS Health Check is a national programme, which assesses all who attend for their risk of developing heart disease, stroke, diabetes and kidney disease.
It is offered to everyone between the ages of 40 and 74 (approximately a quarter of the population), who has not already been diagnosed with one of these conditions or have certain risk factors.
The programme can help people modify behavioural risk factors such as smoking, alcohol, weight control, diet and physical activity.
