Description

The scheme will offer patients access to self-care advice for the treatment of an agreed range of common ailments and, where appropriate, supply with General Sales List (GSL) or pharmacy (P) medicines, at NHS expense, for eligible patients.

This scheme is available to all patients who are exempt from prescription charges (with the exception of pre-payment certificate holders) and who are registered with a GP practice contracted to NHS England Kent and Medway Area Team, West Kent CCG area.

All pharmacists and appropriately trained pharmacy staff working at participating pharmacies can provide this enhanced service if they are clinically competent in the treatment of common minor ailments.  Pharmacies signing up to offer this service must make a declaration of competence in this regard.
