Description
The purpose of the Pharmacy First Emergency Supply Service is to ensure that patients can access an urgent supply of their regular prescription medicines where they are unable to obtain a prescription before they need to take their next dose. The service may be needed because the patient has run out of a medicine, or because they have lost or damaged their medicines, or because they have left home without them.
The Emergency Supply Service will be available from 6pm until 8am on Mondays to Fridays and all day on Saturday and Sundays. It will also be available on any official Bank Holidays. The service is also available to temporary residents during these hours.
Please note this service is commissioned across Shropshire and Staffordshire by NHS England North Midlands. Therefore, the following LPCs have the same emergency supply service in their areas:
- North Staffordshire LPC;
- Shropshire LPC; and
- South Staffordshire LPC
