Description
Vaping is an additional treatment option; to run simultaneously with existing Stop Smoking Service protocols.
All potential clients will be screened against the following eligibility criteria:
- Current tobacco smoker
- 18 years or above
- Motivated to quit smoking and set a quite date
If the individual does not meet the above criteria at screening, they should be offered alternative services or medications.

Training
Suitably qualified, competent, skilled and experienced employees must be available in order to meet the requirements of the service. In addition to existing training requirements of a level 2 stop smoking adviser, staff supporting clients to access and use e-cigarettes must complete or attend:
- The National Centre for Smoking Cessation and Training (NCSCT) online training and assessment modules, including:
- Level 2 Stop Smoking Adviser training (refresher if required) https://elearning.ncsct.co.uk/
- Stop smoking medications https://www.ncsct.co.uk/pub_stop-smoking-medications.php
- NCSCT E-cigarette Training https://elearning.ncsct.co.uk/vaping-launch
- Practical training course and Q&A session run by the supplier; Totally Wicked OR stop smoking service Project Officer.
- On-going support will be provided by the stop smoking service Project Officer.
