Description
This service allows the provision of stop smoking services within a pharmacy. Pharmacy teams go through a structured quit programme with the patient, targeting priority groups to reduce overall smoking prevalence.
Pharmacists are also able to supply Champix (Varenicline) under a Patient Group Direction as part of this service.

Training
Advisors will need to be NCSCT accredited. Training will be provided free to achieve this, including a compressed 3-hour course for Pharmacists. Where the Advisor is a Healthcare Assistant or equivalent, this will be the full 2-day course.
