Description
The purpose of the Community Pharmacy Seasonal Influenza Vaccination Service is to enure that patients have choice of where to access ‘flu vaccination.
Patient eligible to receive the service are:
- adults aged from 18–65 years in a specified risk group; and
- carers.
All the above are to be resident within Derbyshire or Nottinghamshire geographical boundaries.
The vaccination will be administered when appropriate to eligible patients under the NHS England Patient Group Direction (PGD).

The pharmacy contractor has a duty to ensure that pharmacists involved in the provision of the service have relevant knowledge and are appropriately trained in the operation of the service.
The pharmacy contractor should ensure that participating pharmacists meet the competence requirements of the PGD in operation at the pharmacy.
