The voucher scheme
Vouchers issued by Smokefree Support practitioners will be accepted from clients at accredited community pharmacies. The accredited member of pharmacy staff will provide advice and support to the client. Overall clinical responsibility for the supply of nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) products lies with the responsible pharmacist at the time of supply.
The intermediate service
An accredited member of staff will be trained as a Smokefree Support practitioner and will provide one to one support and advice to people who want to give up smoking. Accredited practitioners are responsible for issuing vouchers and providing ongoing support, monitoring and recording of progress.
