Description
The aim of this service is to increase the availability of Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) via a voucher and Varenicline via a Patient Group Direction, free of charge to all clients registered with an NHS Sheffield /CCG GP, through community pharmacies in Sheffield.
The service will comprise of two tiers for smoking cessation:
Tier 1 - Universal Service
This service will be available for smokers who live in Sheffield and are not categorised as being from a priority group.
Tier 2 - Priority Service
Available to smokers who live in Sheffield and who are identified as being from a priority group.
Priority groups:
- routine and manual workers;
- black and ethnic minority;
- mental health;
- learning disability;
- offenders;
- most deprived neighbourhoods in Sheffield;
- immediate households of pregnant women who are being supported to quit through specialist stop smoking midwives;
- LGBT;
- UK Armed Forces Veterans; and
- any household with children under 19.
