Free information leaflets and resources
Cancer Research UK has a wealth of free resources to support patients, including web pages, leaflets, posters, handy pocket cards, downloadable PDFs and infographics. These include resource packs specifically designed for pharmacies. Topics include:
- causes of cancer and prevention (healthy lifestyle and reducing risk);
- screening and early detection;

Patient Involvement Network – How patients can get involved and influence Cancer Research UK’s work by sharing their experiences of cancer.
CancerChat – Chat online to other people affected by cancer. There’s also a friendly team of moderators and nurses also on hand to provide support.
E-cigarettes information hub – The hub includes answers to commonly asked questions, a summary of the current evidence base on e-cigarettes as well as links to useful resources.
Talk Cancer training workshops – This training course is intended to increase pharmacy teams’ knowledge, confidence and skills to make a difference in their community through simple conversations about cancer prevention, early diagnosis and screening. The training is suitable for anyone working in community pharmacy, and can support your position as a Healthy Living Pharmacy.
Online “Talking About Cancer” course – A free interactive online cancer awareness course that gives pharmacy teams an introduction to talking about cancer prevention and the importance of spotting cancer early. You’ll learn through quizzes, articles, interactive discussion and video scenarios demonstrating conversational dos and don’ts. The course takes three hours and can be done at any pace.
Cancer Insight for Pharmacy newsletter – A free expert guide on cancer prevention and early diagnosis aimed specifically at pharmacy staff. To sign up to the mailing list, or to order and download previous copies, click here.
