The Department of Health and Social Care will be launching a campaign to promote the Hypertension Case-finding Service from 11th March 2024.

A TV, social media, public relations and billboard campaign will encourage those aged 40 years and over, to get a free blood pressure check at the nearest participating pharmacy. The public will be encouraged to search for participating pharmacies via the NHS Check your blood pressure tool.

Pharmacy owners providing the service, can order a free pharmacy campaign pack from the Campaign Resource Centre to promote and support the campaign. The aim is to encourage the estimated 4.2 million people in England with undiagnosed high blood pressure patients to engage with the service.

The campaign pack consists of a counter display unit, posters, consultation cards, pharmacy bag inserts and a briefing document – these will only be available while stocks last. Once ordered, the campaign pack is expected to arrive in pharmacies from the week commencing Monday 11th March.

Additional digital materials will be available from the week commencing 4th March and will include digital screens; social media assets; and a communications toolkit.

We would encourage pharmacy owners who provide the service, to ensure that their NHS Profile Manager is up to date and therefore shows that they are providing the service to maximise the opportunity for patients being signposted to their pharmacy on the back of the campaign.
