Description
A two level minor ailment service.
- Level 1 (core) - the provision of pharmacy (P) and General Sale List (GSL) medicines is commissioned from all willing community pharmacies providing services under the NHS contractual framework with NHS England.
- Level 2 - the provision of medicines under a Patient Group Direction (PGD), are commissioned as an add-on to the core level 1 service for pharmacies able to meet the criteria for delivery of the level 2 service
The following prescription-only medicines (POMs) are available through the level 2 service:
- Chloramphenicol 0.5% eye drops;
- Chloramphenicol 1% ointment;
- Fucithalmic eye drops;
- Nystan 100,000u/ml oral suspension; and
- Trimethoprim 200mg tablets
