The below tools can be used to gather information to establish the level of mental health disorders in the local area:
- Public Health England’s Children and Yong People’s Mental Health and Wellbeing tool presents collated data on risk, prevalence and the range of health, social care and education services that support children with, or vulnerable to, mental illness
- Public Health England’s Common Mental Health Disorders tool presents collated risk, prevalence, early intervention, assessment and treatment, outcomes and service costs data relating to people with common mental health disorders, including depression and anxiety disorders
- Public Health England – Health Profiles: This tool provides a snapshot of health and wellbeing across each local authority in England as portrayed by a range of indicators. They are intended to stimulate discussion between local government and health service providers by highlighting local needs and providing comparisons with other areas as well as with the national average.
- Public Health England’s Severe Mental Illness tool presents collated risk, prevalence, early intervention, assessment and treatment, outcomes and service costs data relating to people with severe mental illness
- Public Health England’s Suicide Prevention Profile brings together nationally available data on suicide, risk factors for suicide and service contacts for groups at increased risk of suicide; data is presented at local level
- Public Health England’s Co-occurring substance misuse and mental health issues tool presents data on smoking, alcohol use and dug use, including prevalence and treatment demand and response, alongside related mental health data to inform practice around co-occurring substance use and mental health issues
- Public Health England’s Dementia Profile tool provides indicators which cover prevalence, preventing well, diagnosing well, living well, supporting well and dying well
- The Dementia Atlas is an interacive map that plots data about dementia care and support, allowing people to compare the quality of dementia care across the country
