Sector Poll: Tell us about winter readiness and C-19 vac issues
Community pharmacy owners are being asked to share their views and concerns as we head into winter, as well as any further feedback they have, before the next full Community Pharmacy England Committee meeting taking place in November.
As pharmacy owners brace themselves for what is expected to be another challenging winter across the NHS, Community Pharmacy England’s preparations for the upcoming CPCF negotiations have been continuing at pace. The sector’s financial pressures remain stark and the Committee’s number one priority is to close the funding gap, as set out by Community Pharmacy England CEO Janet Morrison at the Pharmacy Show.
As well as the negotiations, in November, Committee Members will also discuss other pressing issues such as monitoring activity for seasonal vaccination programmes – especially following confusion around changes to eligibility for COVID-19 vaccinations on the NHS. The November meeting is also traditionally when the Committee considers Community Pharmacy England’s workplans for the following financial year (2026/27).
To help inform the Committee’s discussions, we are keen to hear how concerned you are about your pharmacy business going into this winter and, with Community Pharmacy England seeking financial compensation on the COVID-19 vaccination issues, we are asking for views on the impact this has had. The survey also looks to gauge the level of use and interest in hub and spoke dispensing, as well as continuing to track the intensity of various financial pressures on pharmacies.
Your views will be fed into our ongoing work, including to press for further improvements and support for the community pharmacies through our strategic influencing programme.
Please input into the Committee’s discussions via this short poll:

The survey will close at 11.59pm on Monday 10th November to allow time for the Committee to review responses before its meeting. Please note, this survey is for community pharmacy owners only – CCA multiple branches do not need to respond, as their head offices will be contacted separately.
As well as being considered during November’s Committee Meeting, your answers will be used to raise awareness of the immense pressures on pharmacies, along with case studies (e.g. those featured in the Funding and Profitability Report coverage), and the findings will also be reported back to the sector.
We hope that as many of you as possible will share your thoughts with us ahead of our upcoming meeting – this is your chance to feed directly into the Committee.
